Cleaning equipment can’t compensate for a device that wasn’t properly prepared for cleaning.
Hinges need access. Surfaces need exposure. Multi-part devices may need more than simply being placed into a washer basket.

Cleaning only works when the cleaning action can reach the surfaces that need to be cleaned.
Hinged instruments should be opened, and multi-part devices should be disassembled according to the manufacturer’s IFU so surfaces are exposed and accessible during cleaning.

Connect channels or lumens to the appropriate cleaning system when required.

Arrange the device so the cleaning process can reach required surfaces.
Opening hinged instruments is an easy example, but different devices may require different preparation before cleaning.
